A Celebration of Doris Meissner
| On May 15, 2024, MPI held a gala to celebrate the exceptional—and ongoing—career of Senior Fellow Doris Meissner, who has been an influential voice in the U.S. immigration policy conversation in positions in and out of government since the 1970s. She also has played a key role in building MPI into what it is today. More than 300 family, friends, and colleagues past and present gathered to celebrate her extraordinary public service, with the gala seeding the new Doris Meissner Innovation Fund. The gala's honorary Co-Chairs were former President Bill Clinton and retired Senator Alan K. Simpson. The distinguished host committee was led by Co-Chairs Soren Bjorn, CEO of Driscoll's; Spelman College President Helene D. Gayle, and American Civil Liberties Union Executive Director Anthony D. Romero. |
