Camille Le Coz

Camille Le Coz is Director of MPI Europe, where she focuses on EU migration policies. Her expertise spans areas such as return and reintegration, refugee protection and development, climate mobility, and labor migration. She brings together a community of practice on voluntary return and sustainable reintegration, fostering dialogue among policymakers and practitioners from both origin and destination countries. Additionally, Ms. Le Coz has advised policymakers, development agencies, and multilateral development banks on addressing these migration challenges and frequently represents MPI Europe at public and private events.

She also teaches at Sciences Po Paris, and she serves on the board of the French NGO Désinfox Migrations.

Ms. Le Coz came to MPI Europe from Altai Consulting, a research and consulting organization, where she was a Project Director responsible for the migration practice. She was based in Kenya and Afghanistan, where she managed various studies for institutions such as the European Union, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, and the International Organization for Migration. She has conducted research in various countries in Africa, Asia, and Europe.  

She holds a dual master’s degree in international relations from Sciences Po Paris and the London School of Economics. She also holds a bachelor’s degree from Sciences Po Paris.


Jasmijn Slootjes

Jasmijn Slootjes is Deputy Director of MPI Europe, primarily working on immigrant integration. Her research areas include migrant health, labor market integration, migrants’ access to services, integration policies, receiving-society responses to migration, and the use of innovative research methods to study migration.

Before joining MPI Europe, Dr. Slootjes was Executive Director of the Berkeley Interdisciplinary Migration Initiative (BIMI) at the University of California, Berkeley. In this role, she worked on geospatial inequality in migrants’ access to health, legal, and refugee services by leading a multistate data-collection project and the development of an interactive mapping tool. She also worked on access to migrant services in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, spearheaded BIMI’s policy brief series, and organized the Summer Institute in Migration Research Methods.

Prior to BIMI, she completed her PhD research on how migrants overcome health problems as obstacles to labor market integration. One of the emerging articles, focusing on the impact of workfare volunteering on migrant labor market integration, won the best publication of the year award in the International Journal of Voluntary and Nonprofit Organizations. During her PhD, she was the coordinator of the Migration Diversity Centre and a Pat Cox Fellow at the Migration Policy Group. Previously, she studied the impact of budget cuts on integration courses and migrant language attainment at the Municipality of Utrecht, the Netherlands.

Dr. Slootjes holds a PhD in sociology (migration studies) from VU University Amsterdam, a master of science in migration studies from Utrecht University (cum laude), and a BA in political science and international relations (cum laude) from Utrecht University.


Ravenna Sohst

Ravenna Sohst is a Policy Analyst at MPI Europe, where she conducts research and policy analysis on European migration, including on asylum, resettlement, integration, and the links between development and migration.  

Prior to joining MPI Europe, Dr. Sohst worked with the International Organization for Migration’s Global Migration Data Analysis Centre (IOM GMDAC) on migration forecasts and scenarios. She also worked at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on studies relating to immigrant integration and the social mobility of immigrants and their children. She has provided consultancy services to several organizations, including on labor migration and preparedness.  

Dr. Sohst holds a PhD from the University of Luxembourg; her dissertation explored the social impacts of immigration and future outlooks in the European Union. She holds a MSc from the United Nations MERIT University/Maastricht University in public policy, with a specialization in social protection, and a BA in political science from the University of Freiburg and the Institut d’Études Politiques d’Aix-en-Provence.



María Belén Zanzuchi

María Belén Zanzuchi is a Policy Analyst at MPI Europe, where she conducts research on refugee protection pathways, including resettlement and complementary pathways, as well as on labor migration, irregular migration, and return migration.

Previously, she worked with the Humanitarian Corridors Initiative at the University of Notre Dame, evaluating humanitarian corridors in Italy and assessing whether these programs could serve as a model for migrant integration elsewhere in Europe. Ms. Zanzuchi also worked as an Economic Advisor to the Secretary of Commerce of Argentina, focusing on issues related to competition policies, trade agreements, and sectorial policies, and coordinating with private and public stakeholders. 

Ms. Zanzuchi has a master’s degree in sustainable development from the University of Notre Dame, with a focus on refugee and migrant studies, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Universidad Torcuato di Tella in Buenos Aires.



Abigail Goldfarb

Abigail Goldfarb is a Research Assistant at MPI Europe, where her areas of research include legal migration pathways, labor market integration, and policy responses to irregular migration.

Prior to this role, she worked as a Research Intern with MPI Europe, a Research Assistant in the economics department at Brown University, and a Policy Intern with the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society. She also has experience working directly with refugee and immigrant youth in the United States and the United Kingdom, including as a Program Coordinator of Brown Refugee Youth Tutoring and Enrichment in Providence, Rhode Island.

Ms. Goldfarb has a master’s degree with distinction in international migration and public policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She also holds a bachelor of science in applied mathematics and economics from Brown University.


Samla Da Rosa

Samla Da Rosa is the Operations Manager at MPI Europe, acting as the central point to ensure the seamless and efficient flow of information and processes within the organization. In this role, she provides crucial support in human resources, oversees financial reporting, and contributes to the financial auditing process. She also manages office operations, facilitates project coordination, and supports procurement and contract management.

With more than 20 years of experience, Ms. Da Rosa brings a wealth of knowledge and a results-driven approach to enhancing MPI Europe’s operational excellence. Previously, she was Team Coordinator at the Africa-Europe Development Diaspora Platform (ADEPT), focusing on finance and human resources for EU projects fostering cooperation and development between Europe and Africa. Before transitioning to the corporate realm in Brussels, where she worked as a communications officer for multinational companies, Ms. Da Rosa was an international journalist specializing in economics and foreign trade within European institutions. In her post-journalism career, her strong organizational and leadership skills allowed her to coordinate teams and expand her responsibilities into market research consulting.

Ms. Da Rosa holds dual master’s degrees in European politics from Université Libre de Bruxelles and in communications and journalism from the University of São Paulo, Brazil. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.


Joan Fluvià

Joan Fluvià is the Finance and Office Assistant at MPI Europe, contributing to the organization’s financial operations and administrative processes. His responsibilities include project and indirect cost tracking, processing invoices, overseeing payment workflows, and assisting with expense management and financial reporting. He also provides support in human resources and office management, including with events and travel processing.

Previously, Mr. Fluvià held various administrative and team management positions in which he honed his skills in invoice processing, data entry, and process optimization.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the Universitat de Girona and is pursuing a master’s degree in financial management at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
