Helen McCarthy

Helen McCarthy is a doctoral candidate at Middlesex University whose research interests include immigrant integration, the labor market, and citizenship. She previously worked with MPI Europe on Project UPSTREAM, looking at the mainstreaming of immigrant integration policies in the European Union. She has also worked at the Centre on Migration, Policy, and Society (COMPAS) at the University of Oxford; in the Integration and Faith team within the London Department for Communities and Local Government; and at Amnesty International in Brussels.

Ms. McCarthy holds a master’s degree in global migration from University College London and a master’s degree in social anthropology from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth.
