MPI has provided estimates of the unauthorized populations that could potentially be covered under the DREAM Act of 2017 introduced in the Senate and the Recognizing America’s Children Act introduced in the House, using an innovative methodology that permits the assignment of legal status in U.S. Census Bureau data. These estimates, offered to inform policymakers and the public, are discussed in detail in this fact sheet.
