Elisa Di Benedetto

Elisa Di Benedetto is the Managing Director and Founding Member of the International Association of Religion Journalists. She is a member of the board of the Joint Learning Initiative on Faith and Local Communities. As a practitioner with expertise in social inclusion and multilingualism, Benedetto is actively engaged with refugees and asylum seekers as a teacher of Italian and cultural mediator who fosters community dialogue. As a journalist, her writing covers religion, migration, interfaith dialogue, and cross-cultural issues. She has reported from Afghanistan, Lebanon, and Kosovo. 

She holds an MA in communications studies from the University of Bologna, a master’s degree in advanced design from Ca' Foscari University, and a master’s degree in peacekeeping and security studies from Roma Tre University.

She is a member of the Advisory Council for the Religion and Refugees Project from MPI’s Refugee and Forced Displacement Initiative.
