Özlem Özdemir

Özlem Özdemir is Associate Professor, teaching in the Department of Strategic Communication at Turkey’s National Defence University. She specializes in strategic communication, refugees, international migration, migrant smuggling, and sexual and gender-based violence. She was a postdoctoral scholar at Swansea University, in the United Kingdom, and previously served as an officer in the Turkish Gendarmerie General Command. She also provides consultancy to the United Nations. She holds a PhD from Akdeniz University, in Turkey.
