Caress Schenk is Associate Professor of political science at Nazarbayev University in Astana, Kazakhstan. She researches the politics of immigration and national identity in Eurasia and is the author of Why Control Immigration? Strategic Uses of Migration Management in Russia (University of Toronto Press, 2018).
