Terence Hogarth is a Professor of Practice at the University of Warwick Institute for Employment Research, where he is responsible for a program of international comparative research on vocational education and training (VET). He has led many studies that have addressed the effectiveness of VET systems in meeting the demand for skills in the labor market. Increasingly, his research has focused on how conventional approaches to measuring skill demand can harness data science techniques to provide a more detailed picture of emerging skill needs. He has also carried out several studies on the costs and benefits to employers of investing in apprenticeships.
