Burke Speaker
Burke Speaker is Deputy Director of Communications at MPI and is responsible for assisting in the Institute’s media and social media outreach, editing and publications process, website design and operation, and publication of the Data Hub newsletter.
Previously, he served as Features and Magazine Editor at the StarNews in Wilmington, NC, and as Assistant News Editor at The Capital newspaper in Annapolis, MD.
A longtime journalist, Mr. Speaker has covered city government, health, environment, human interest, and consumer news for various media organizations in North Carolina, Maryland, and Virginia.
He received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Southern Illinois University.
