Amber French

Amber French is Editor of the Migration Information Source, the Migration Policy Institute’s award-winning online journal, and is responsible for editing and publishing the bimonthly e-newsletter and the Source website: www.migrationinformation.org.

Previously based in Paris, she worked as Co-Editor of Diversities (formerly International Journal on Multicultural Societies), an online academic and professional journal co-published by UNESCO and the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity.

She previously served as Program Assistant at UNESCO working on a range of international migration issues, including in her temporary appointment as Assistant Coordinator to support the UNESCO Chairmanship of the Global Migration Group, an interagency group dealing with migration policies, data, and research at the international level.

Ms. French earned a BA in international relations and French from Tulane University, and an MA in international relations from the American Graduate School of Paris. Her research interests include gender and migration, South-North migration, and post-colonial Africa.
