Violet Lee is Executive Assistant to the President of MPI, and serves as a central point of information and support, providing general administrative guidance to program staff.
Previously, Ms. Lee was an Administrative Assistant at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where she worked in the International Migration Policy Program for over ten years. She served as an assistant to the Program Director, Doris Meissner, and her successor, Demetrios Papademetriou, as well as Kathleen Newland. Ms. Lee was responsible for all secretarial work and communications, as well as arrangements for policy briefings and other meetings. Before assisting with the International Migration Policy Program, Ms. Lee worked with several other programs at the Carnegie Endowment.
Prior to coming to the United States, Ms. Lee served as Chief Executive Secretary to the Managing Director of DuPont Far East Inc. in Taipei, Taiwan, where she supervised ten staff members and was responsible for ensuring the well-being of relocated transferees from DuPont Headquarters.
Ms. Lee was born and educated in Burma.
