| This event marks the release of a special
issue of the Journal of Refugee Studies dedicated to those who
have been killed and injured in the course of humanitarian work in Iraq.
The issue is organized around themes that were prominent in the work of
Sergio Vieira de Mello and Arthur Helton. The special issue also includes
an article by Gil Loescher who was seriously injured in the August 19 bombing
of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad.
Speakers include authors Eleanor Acer, Mary Holland, Susan Martin,
Larry Minear, and Courtland Robinson, and journal co-editors Richard Black
and Joanne van Selm.
