Monette Zard
Monette Zard is the Director of the Program on Forced Migration and Health (PFMH) and Associate Professor of Population and Family Health at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Her work focuses on the intersection of the humanitarian, human rights, and development sectors. She is an expert on global governance and accountability related to forced migration, specifically regarding protection of the rights and health of migrants.
Previously, Professor Zard served at the Ford Foundation in New York, the International Council on Human Rights Policy in Geneva, and MPI in Washington, DC. She has also worked with the Brookings Institution, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and held positions at the Refugee Studies Centre at Oxford University and the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights (now Human Rights First) in New York.
